Expansion approved for P.A. Provincial Correctional Centre
The Prince Albert Provincial Correctional Centre could see a 72 cell expansion in the near future.
In May of this year an application for an expansion at the Prince Albert Provincial Correctional Centre was submitted to Prince Albert’s Department of Planning and Development Services.
The application would see a new living unit built onto the existing correctional centre on the property located at 3021 – First Avenue West.
Car slams into church during Sunday service
The congregation at the St. Patrick Parish Center got a bit of a surprise when a car crashed into the buidling during Sunday mass.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. when a 60-year-old woman lost control of her car and hit the church's attached garage on Centennial Drive.
Police say a medical issue may have caused her to lose control.
No one was hurt but the woman was taken to hospital.
No charges have been laid at this point but police continue to investigate.
UPDATED: Former Roughrider champ gets his Grey Cup ring back
A former Saskatchewan Roughrider champion is celebrating Fathers' day reunited with his Grey Cup ring.
Matt Dominguez took to twitter on Saturday, pleading with a thief who broke into his truck in Moose Jaw Friday night, making off with a watch and the player's 2007 championship ring.
On Sunday morning, Dominguez returned to twitter with good news. He wrote, "The Regina Police Dept found my ring!!!"
Man dies in collision on Regina's Ring Road
A hit and run collision that claimed a man's life closed down part of Regina's Ring Road Sunday.
The collision happened in the westbound lane of the Ring Road, closing the section between Albert Street north and the Argyle Street.
The Regina Police Service confirm a man was killed, but haven't yet released any other details. Officers spent a few hours investigating on the scene.

UPDATE: Police locate missing Saskatoon man
Police have located a missing Saskatoon man.
Brandon David Boss was last seen leaving the downtown Saskatoon Police station on June 14 at around 6 p.m. but was found Sunday.
His family was concerned because it was uncharacteristic for him to go missing and police said he may be suffering from mental health issues.
In a Facebook post set up by a family friend it said that "he called his sister to pick him up, but by the time she got there, he was gone."
Saskatoon police looking for suspect in shooting
Saskatoon police are investigating a shooting they believe to be gang related.
Police got a call just before 10 p.m. Friday night saying a man had fired a gun off at someone on the 300 block of Avenue N South.
The blast apparently hit a building and shattered a window. But so far there's no indication from police anyone was hurt. Street gang unit members were called in with the K-9 unit. They tracked the man to a house on Avenue H South. So far, no arrests have been made.
Ex-con released in Regina; high risk to re-offend
Regina Police are warning residents of the city’s Heritage neighbourhood that man with a long criminal history is leaving jail and moving to a half-way house in the area.
Lawrence Fred Adam has a history of substance abuse, violence and sexual assault against adult and child females. Under a long-term supervision order, Adam is not allowed in the presence of women under the age of 18, must refrain from using drugs or alcohol and cannot associate with anyone involved in criminal activity.
Saskatoon pedestrian suffers minor injuries after being hit by a car
The heavy rains are causing dangerous driving conditions for cars and pedestrians.
Friday morning at 10:50 a.m. police were called to the scene after a woman was hit by a vehicle.
She was walking on the crosswalk on 22nd Street and Avenue W when she was struck by a turning vehicle.
The vehicle was going slow enough that she was treated on scene for minor injuries and then released.
The driver was given a Summary Offence Ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian on a marked crosswalk.
Heavy rains cause car accident on Circle Drive South
The heavy rains in Saskatoon have caused a car accident.
Traffic is backed up on Circle Drive South after a vehicle lost control because of water on the road. It spun out and hit another vehicle.
The accident happened just before 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Traffic was moving very slowly in the southbound lane while police were still on the scene. The vehicle has since been moved and traffic is back to normal.
