Cougars soccer player Meagan Cormier named Canada West Women's first star of the week
Meagan Cormier of the University of Regina Cougars Women's Soccer team has been recognized for her play on the weekend by being named the Canada West Women's first star of the week.
Cormier scored two goals and added an assist as the Cougars beat Winnipeg and Manitoba. Cormier had two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over Winnipeg. Cormier had both the opening and game winning goals.
Against Manitoba Cormier played 76 minutes with three shot attempts in a 1-0 win. She had six shot attempts against Winnipeg.
The Cougars join the University of Saskatchewan Huskies as the only 2-0-0 teams in Canada West women's soccer. The Cougars and Huskies will actually meet Saturday in Saskatoon with a Noon start time.
Cormier needs just three more goals to pass Jessica Waller's school record for goals in a career.
