House fire in Saskatoon's east side
Firefighters and residents escaped without injurying following a Monday night house fire in Saskatoon.
The house is located on the 1300 block of Temperance Street, a few blocks from the University of Saskatchewan.
Fire investigator’s initial assessments believe the fire caused around $300,000 in damages.
Fire crews responded to the call with three fire trucks and an aerial unit just before 8:30 p.m.
According to a media release, crews were able to contain the blaze within 18 minutes.
The fire started on the main floor of the multi-unit house.
Four occupants in the basement were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and got out safely.
The release also says that the Crisis Centre has been called to assist one of the residents in arranging temporary accommodations.
No other homes were damaged during the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
